World hunger: insects and micro-algae to combat





"A cricket will save the planet." At Chimali, the X Congress of Food Chemistry at the University of Florence in progress, have been presented several projects to counter the shortage of food resources in the world. "You can eat insects, are a source of protein but mostly fat," explains Professor Vincenzo Fogliano Dutch university of Wageningen. He is echoed by Mario Tredici, Professor of the University of Florence, who presented research focused on the use of dietary marine microalgae: "They would grown in desert areas, and therefore not entering then in competition with the production of traditional food"
