What you have to know about IPhone 5

What are the prices of the iPhone 5?
The iPhone 5 is the most expensive iPhone yet, at least in Italy. In its three versions is sold by Apple to € 729 (16 GB version), € 839 (32GB) and € 949 (64GB).

You can have it at lower prices binding for 30 months to a telephone operator. With Three (go to details), you can get the iPhone 5 16 GB to zero Euros with a contract in advance from € 29 per month (for 30 months); Vodafone (go to details), you can get the iPhone 5 16 GB to 69 € in advance with a contract from € 49 per month and € 5 per month for the phone (for 30 months the government tax); with TIM (go to details), you can get the iPhone 5 16 GB to zero in advance € plus 30 € per month installment inclusive of telephone and 1 GB of navigation (for 30 months).

In the U.S., Apple has instead kept the same as the iPhone 4S. In major European countries, probably due to the unfavorable exchange our currency, the company has instead increased the prices of about 50 Euros.

They were always selling the 16GB version of the iPhone 4S (€ 629, € 579 in France and Germany) and the 8 GB version of the iPhone 4 (€ 429, € 399 in France and Germany).

Where to buy iPhone 5?

iPhone 5 you can buy, unlocked and without a contract, in any physical Apple Store (more than 10 in Italy), the Apple Store online with free delivery, at the stores of mobile operators Three and Vodafone Tim (and in their respective online stores) and some chain of electronics stores as MediaWorld, Saturn, Unieuro, Snapfish.

What colors are available?
iPhone 5 has the same colors as the previous models, a model will be black (with back cover slate) and a model will be white (with silver back cover). The device of black color is more problematic to contact with external bodies by virtue of a greater vulnerability to scratching.

What is the shape?

It has a shape similar to the iPhone 4S: the new phone is higher than the previous few millimeters, has a 4-inch display, is 18 percent thinner and 20 percent lighter. The rear panel glass is replaced by a metal panel with glass inserts in the upper zone and lower.

The LCD panel and touch screen, the iPhone 4s composed of two superimposed levels, are unified into a single layer thanks to the "in-cell" that enables you to reduce the thickness and weight of the device.

iPhone 5 has a new dock connector closer (30 to pin 8), a larger display, three microphones for noise reduction and new speakers. The headphone jack, iPhone 4S positioned along the top side of the phone, it is situated on the low side (like the iPod Touch). The camera is better and can take pictures faster, the processor is an Apple A6. iPhone 5 also supports LTE wireless technology (known as "4G") for high-speed navigation. It is not expected NFC technology already present on many competing devices.

What's in the Box?

In the box iPhone 5 you will find the phone, the USB cable with terminator lightning, the power adapter and the basic documentation.

What contains the operating system?

iPhone 5 is equipped with iOS 6, the sixth version of the operating system for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. iOS 6 has been presented at the Worldwide Developer Conference 2012. In an article we have summarized the main changes of the operating system, with a special distinction for the Italian offer (not all functions are in fact available internationally).

When is the iPhone 5 come out?

The iPhone 5 was released September 21 in the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany and other countries.

The date turned out to be in line with expectations. Apple generally keeps an annual cycle for the release of its mobile products. The iPhone 4S went on sale October 14, 2011 in the U.S. and other countries in Europe.

The first problems

A few hours after placing on the market have started to emerge the first issues related to the smartphone, some of which have sparked immediate controversy:

The rear bodywork would be too vulnerable to scratches, leaving in some cases already affected directly from the original packaging;
The maps supplied on iOS 6 would not live up to expectations: the same Tim Cook has apologized publicly to the user;
the so-called "purple fringing" leaves a purple halo on some photos taken in the presence of strong light sources in the context of the shot, but what Apple has called "normal" (here our tests).
in the future
Many of these problems could be solved by the next evolution of the iPhone, but with some more news. The smartphone market is continually and constantly evolving, and the race to conquer larger and larger share of the market is forcing vendors to increasingly diverse proposals. Even Apple is no exception to this rule.

The house of Cupertino has decided to continue the development in this area follow two distinct and separate roads. In September 2013 will see the launch of an iPhone so low cost, which is clearly intended to counter the success of the Android device, and the launch of the iPhone 5S, which continues on the path traced in 2007 by the first revolutionary iPhone offering technology and innovations for real enthusiasts.
