Capsula-hotel

The so-called capsule-hotels are now the norm in most crowded cities in the world, which attract large numbers of tourists. Previously considered to be small, cramped and uncomfortable, but are now perceived as the most functional and attractive. Engineers Podtime are riding the trend Podtels launching a new version of the hotel 'compact'.

"We're trying to run the project within Gatwick Airport," says co-founder Paul Grindrod. Capsules Podtime to date have been used in an innovative way in the workplace, in companies such as Facebook or Nestlé. Generally, however, this type of cabin is located near the railway stations, offering a quiet hotel in the business and commuters.

The new project, launched in 2011 from an idea by Jon Gray, who created the capsules thinking of them as places of rest from the stress of the city, will allow in the future to merge and overlap cabins - which now have individual workstations, but that will soon be able to offer also a double bed - so as to form a real hotel complex. The rooms, which measure 1.5 m, will also have space for luggage and optional services, such as TV outlets, lighting and electricity. "We would like to install one in London, but we are still a small company and there are not enough funds," he said Grindrod.
